  • Energy audits, computer modeling, energy conservation measures, incentive packaging, project financing, power provider agreements and energy service agreements.

  • Prepared and submitted RFP 400-09-402 to the California Energy Commission, proposing retrofitting 135 institutional buildings with $5M from ARRA and $29M in incentive programs.

  • Marketing to school districts ESA’s and reducing operating expenses.

  • Design phases of Ford Elementary School, Richmond, CA, $30M, 2.1 acres, 62,500 sq. ft. new construction on existing site. (48 DSA HPI rating)
  • Negotiation, formation and coordination of in house and consultant teams.
  • Scheduling and tracking of tasks and profitability with weekly reports to management.
  • Preparing agendas, conducting meetings and preparing minutes documenting the deliverables, decisions and interface with public entities.
  • Coordination of 2007 CBC and CHPS into the contract documents.
  • Conducting employee interviews, responding to RFQ’s, client interviews and mentoring the other project managers.

  • Construction Administration of Heritage High School, Brentwood, CA, $68M, 60.1 acres, 245,000 sq. ft. (Winner Best Construction of 2006)
  • Responded to over 1600 RFI’s, reviewed submittals, coordinated RFP’s & ASI’s, prepared AFR’s, punch lists and change orders.
  • Numerous smaller projects including, Elementary School, College Aquatic center, Ball field Improvements, Press Box, Maintenance building, Extreme Make Over Home Edition, Penngrove, CA, Gremmel Renovation for Community Builders, several modular warming kitchen renovations.
  • Concurrently managed 6 – 9 projects.

D J Carpenter Architect, Sebastopol, CA

  • Designed and prepared documents for residential additions, renovations, garages, second units.
  • Designed and prepared documents for universally accessible renovations of residential units of the newly disabled.
  • Designed and prepared documents for restaurants, tasting rooms and wine crushing facilities.
  • Prepared as built drawings and improvements for code enforcement issues.
  • Drafting of WIC shop drawings and engineered roof systems.

  • Principally in charge of the design and drawing preparation of change in occupancy permits for a developmental center into the City of Ten Thousand Buddha’s. Talmadge, CA, ($300M), 42 acres, 42 buildings, 322,711 sq. ft.
  • Drafting of addition to the Grace Hudson Museum and Blackwelder Residence in Ukiah, CA.

  • Developed and maintained a lab based teaching curriculum.
  • Helping students discover and develop their talents.
  • One student was a semi finalist in the Westinghouse Competition
  • Facilities manager for 6 years, overseeing the planning, design and construction of the High School, Athletic and Performance facilities.

  • Operated a small custom cabinet shop and renovated numerous residential kitchens and baths.

Western Slope Energy Research Center, Hotchkiss, CO


  • Helped individuals obtain DOE small energy grants.
  • Performed Title 4 Energy Audits of Federal Buildings.
  • Conducted a four county solar survey for Jimmy Carter.
  • Designed and built three 80% passive solar homes and numerous trombe walls, greenhouses, rammed earth, straw bale, solar showers and solar hot water systems.

Volunteer:       14 years as chairman of building committees for 2 private schools and 1 downtown planning association; running public meetings, coordinating contracts and overseeing the design and construction of two k-12 private school campuses.
